Belt Cleaning Solution
Belt Cleaners That Clean Better, Last Longer, Cost Less. Belt ... High-performing belt cleaners keep belts clean, eliminating carryback and making conveyor systems safer and more productive. At Martin Engineering, we offer belt cleaners that work with all belt sizes and speeds, regardless of industry or type of material. We also offer belt cleaners that work in the most challenging and unique environments, such as on conveyor systems where there’s minimal space around the head pulley. Our specialty belt cleaners include conveyor belt washing systems, belt brush cleaners, food-grade belt scrapers, water cleaners and high-temperature cleaners, all engineered for challenging conditions and unusual materials. Keeping belts clean is more than just a matter of cleanliness. Installing high-quality Martin®Belt Cleaners substantially improves efficiency by providing the following benefits:
Increased profitability- Eliminating carryback reduces fugitive material and minimizes the cost of unnecessary cleanup and maintenance.
Less material loss- By scraping the belts clean at the head pulley, belt cleaners eliminate carryback and keep bulk materials moving in the right direction through transfer points or into containers.
Longer lasting conveyor equipment- Material that is carried back under the belt often ends up inside the conveyor system and can damage rollers and idlers while causing belts to wander and fray.
Lower energy costs- When material sticks to the belt beyond the head pulley, the added weight of the material stuck to the belt makes the equipment work harder so it uses more energy.
Safer work environment- When fugitive material accumulates under the belt, workers can easily slip and fall trying to walk through the mess. Plus, uncontained dust can cause health problems when inhaled and can ignite causing a deadly explosion.
Reduced dust problems- Fugitive dust is frequently a by-product of material that falls from under the belt on the return trip.
Vibration Solution
Keep bulk materials flowing efficiently through chutes, hoppers, silos and kilns by applying vibration energy.
When the flow of material gets stuck, shake it loose!
For many years, the necessity to store material in bulk has created a problem - how to get it out of the storage vessel. Typical problems include bridging, ratholing, clinging and arching. Once a pluggage exists, it becomes necessary to remove it in order to continue with production. One of the first things an operator will do is try to dislodge it in some manner. Historically, techniques such as water and air lances, silo cleanout equipment, shot gun blasts and even dynamite have been used to eliminate material blockage. The most common means of material removal over the years is the use of a sledgehammer. Having lived with these storage flow problems for decades, new techniques were developed to reduce these occurrences and address storage flow problems before a blockage occurs. One safe and efficient solution is the industrial vibrator, invented by Edwin F. Peterson in 1944, and the start of Martin Engineering. Martin Engineering manufactures vibrators to prevent bin and hopper flow problems as well as rotary electric vibratory drives for industrial processing equipment. The application of vibratory drives to processing equipment has found acceptance throughout industries worldwide, primarily in increasing production throughput and reducing operational costs. The most typical applications include conveying or feeding, screening, draining, dewatering, product sizing, compaction, testing of components, as well as bin, hopper and chute evacuation.

Air Canon Solution
Prevent buildup on container walls and obstructions at unloading ports using controlled bursts of air.
At Martin Engineering, we are dedicated to helping you boost profits by keeping your product flowing with as little unscheduled downtime as possible. Our air cannons release timed bursts of compressed air that break up accumulations and bottlenecks in process vessels without damaging your equipment. We also offer innovative nozzles that can be removed easily from the outside for cleaning or replacement without having to remove the entire air cannon, as well as high-quality valve assemblies and electronic controls. In addition to air cannons, we are a global leader in manufacturing industrial vibrators, which are effective in a wide range of applications, especially involving bulk materials with small particle sizes or situations where the equipment can’t be permanently installed, such as a dump truck bed. By eliminating obstructions and buildups that restrict flow, your operation can process more material faster, resulting in multiple positive outcomes, such as:
More profits - Keeping material flowing at top efficiency and maximum throughput means more revenues and more profits.
Improved efficiency - Eliminating obstructions and buildup substantially improves throughput without adding significant labor or energy costs.
Safer work conditions - Workers no longer have to climb inside containers or under unloading ports to break up blockages manually.
Less wear and tear on equipment - Cleaning and unblocking bulk materials manually requires tools that damage equipment over time, while air cannons use harmless bursts of air.
Reduced downtime - Because the air cannon fires at timed intervals, material doesn’t have a chance to build up in the first place, so there’s no need to shut down to remove obstructions.
